This Week in Third Grade 10/21

Reading: 
This week is a Red Week for Reading Response. 

We will continue to focus on character development in reading this week.

Writing: 
 We are stil working on personal narratives. Students began a second personal narrative today in class, they look fantastic so far!

Math: 
We are working on subtraction this week!

Science: 
We are finishing up our plants unit this week! There will be a science test sometime next week!

Social Studies: 
We are finishing up our geography unit for social studies. Students will have an open book test on Wednesday.

Other Important Information: 

FIELD TRIP TOMORROW! Please make sure that your student has a sack lunch. Students are asked to wear blue and dress warm. We are going to be walking to Tower Grove Park for lunch! Thank you to everyone who signed up to volunteer!



Tonight is Culver's Night at the Culver's located off Big Bend and Highway 44.



This week is Red Ribbon Week! 

Monday, 10/21-”Celebrate a Drug free Life”

Students receive red ribbons to wear promoting our theme during the week.

Tuesday, 10/22-”Wear Blue Day”

Wear blue to show that drugs will give you the blues!

Wednesday, 10/23-”Wear Green Day”

Wear green today because the grass is greener on the drug-free side.

Thursday, 10/24-”Wear Red Day” ALSO CARDNIALS SPIRIT DAY!

Wear red to show you believe in being drug-free!

Friday, 10/25-”Wear Orange Day”

Wear orange today.  Orange you glad you are drug-free?

Mark your calendars for the Music Program!

Third and Fifth Grades:  Monday, December 9 at LHS Auditorium. 

 Times:  3rd at 6:15, 5th at 7:15.
First Grade:  Wednesday, December 11 at Sappington Gym.  6:30
K, 2 and 4:  Sunday, May 4 at LHS Auditorium.  Times to come.

Picture Retakes are going to be this Friday afternoon! Please let me know if you plan on having your student do retakes!
