This Week in Third Grade

Welcome back to another week in third grade! I cannot believe that is already April! Time is really flying by! Here's a look at what is going on in third grade this week!

Writing: Thank you so much for those of you who were able to come out to our publishing party on Friday! I have such a strong group of writers this year, and I was so impressed with their outcomes. This week we will be working together to change the world around us in a group.

Reading: This week in reading we will continue to work on determining importance of text. We are really focusing in on specific events and items that effect the overall theme or message of fictional text.

Math: This week in math we are learning about probability! We are focusing on the likelihood of events occurring, and how to predict the outcome of specific events. Hamby Homework Number 7 will be due on Friday, and so will fact log.

Science: This week in science, we will be focusing on measurement. Specifically we will be learning how to measure in standard units.

Other:
Tuesday is pj day!

Thursday there will be a blood drive in the cafeteria Thursday afternoon. The class with the most volunteers that donate will win a kickball game with Dr. Hamby!!!

Election Day is on April 8th

No school on April 18

April 22 is the first day of MAP testing.
